Yara, a global leader in agricultural solutions
Yara, a leading company in the agriculture sector, began its foray into Latin America in 1965, choosing Guatemala as its first market. Since then, it has experienced constant growth and has a presence in key countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. Recognizing the importance of Colombia in its expansion strategy, Yara moved its main offices from the Buenos Aires region to Bogotá. This move underlines Yara's confidence in Colombia as a critical driver of its regional growth.
Yara's main differentiator in the Latin American market is its commitment to sustainable agricultural development. Its focus on fertilizer supply and creating added value through technology, knowledge, and best farming practices positions Yara as a leader in promoting responsible and efficient agriculture throughout Latin America.
What role does the Legal Department play at Yara?
The Legal Department at Yara Latin America is crucial in designing and establishing processes and flows for generating contracts or minutes. This department, led by Lillyana Cavelier since the end of 2020, has focused on transforming the company's legal practice. This group of professionals has evolved from practicing as traditional lawyers to becoming disruptive lawyers.
How did Yara's Legal Department work before implementing Webdox CLM?
Before implementing the contract management software Webdox, contract administration presented significant obstacles that impacted the company's efficiency and strategic value. We spent considerable time on elaboration and Contract Review, many of which did not align with Yara's strategy.
The above represented an inefficient use of legal resources. Additionally, the contract templates could have been more technical, complicating their review and slowing the contracting process.
How was the implementation process and Webdox support?
According to Lillyana Cavelier Rueda, Latam Director, the company formalized the contracting of the CLM platform in May 2022, which represented a crucial step in officially beginning the transition towards better contract management.
In June, the implementation of Webdox in the company structure began, a fundamental period to configure and customize the tool according to specific needs. In July, we completed the testing and adjustment phase, followed by the official launch of Webdox within the organization. From this moment on, the company began to experience the benefits of more efficient digital contract management.
In this way, 2023 was vital for consolidating and expanding the integration of Webdox's CLM Software in the organization, highlighting contract templates available on the platform and the ease of creating and managing them. In addition, Yara adopted templates with Legal Design, improving understanding and clarity in contractual documents. The volume of contracts requested through Webdox CLM exceeded 100 requests, demonstrating the adoption and effectiveness of the tool within the organization.
